FROM COMICS TO NOLAN

Picking up were we left off with Batman Begins, here are all comics Christopher Nolan drew inspiration from while making The Dark Knight.

Part Two: The Dark Knight

1. The Joker using a disguise to rob a bank only to reveal his identity later is from Batman #9. (1942)

2. Bruce being depicted with scars on his back comes from many sources, but the most noteworthy source is Batman: War on Crime (1999)

3. Batman, Harvey Dent, and Commissioner Gordon meeting together as an uncorrupted trio next to the bat signal is from Batman: The Long Halloween. (1996)

4. The lines "I believe in Harvey Dent." and "He does that." were taken directly from Batman: The Long Halloween. (1996)

5. The dead Batman impostor was adapted from several different stories. The cut face smeared with lipstick comes from Gotham Noir (2001), the Joker calling card is from Detective Comics #504 (1981) and hanging the victim was taken from Batman: Dark Victory. (1999)

6. The Joker's youthful look and unkempt hair were first depicted in Batman: The Killing Joke. (1988)
