Picking up were we left off with The Dark Knight, here are all comics Christopher Nolan drew inspiration from while making The Dark Knight Rises.

Part Three: The Dark Knight Rises

1. Bruce taking a long hiatus from being Batman was adapted from The Dark Knight Returns. (1986)

2. Deputy Commissioner Peter Foley was inspired by Hugh Foley from Batman: No Man's Land. (1999)

3. Gordon's marriage problems and eventual separation is a subplot originating from Batman: Year One. (1986)

4. Bruce being able to see through Selina's disguise and recovering a stolen necklace was taken from Batman #1. (1940)

5. John Blake first appeared as minor character in Batman #13. (1942)

6. The Gotham Times newspaper articles about a "Cat" burglar were taken from Batman #1. (1940)

7. Gordon being captured in the sewer and escaping by way of falling into the stream was adapted from Batman: Knightfall. (1993)

8. A villain recruiting an army of transients in the sewers under Gotham came from Batman: The Cult.
